Guangzhou is the largest & most professional clothing markets in China. You can find tons of different kinds of clothes and the latest designs that they are following the new and popular trends of the world latest trend here. Customers can choose from a variety of clothing options in different price ranges which can meet everyone’s need. If you are fresh to these wholesale markets, you will find no clues of how and where to start the purchasing, as there are too many markets to choose from. So I am going to introduce the clothing wholesale markets in this article.

There are dozens of apparel markets in Guangzhou which generally distribute in three largest clothing wholesale centers. They are: Guangzhou Railway Station business circle, Thirteen Hongs of Canton business circle and Shahe Clothes wholesale market. I will mainly introduce to these 3 business areas in this article, hope it could help you to have an idea.

Guangzhou Railway Station Business Circle

I would like to recommend you to come here as your first stop, especially if you are looking for good quality. It is the best choice among these 3 clothing wholesale centers. Quality is better compared to the other two centers. In this area, there are dozens of buildings which have like thousands of shops inside. That is too many to go through all of them. It is a good idea to start from below well-known buildings.

Guangzhou BAIMA Garment Market

It is known as it is the largest high-grade clothing wholesale market in Guangzhou where products are better quality and at higher price. Most of them are local Chinese brands. BAIMA is near to the Guangzhou Railway Station and it is around 2 kilometers away from the Old Canton Fair buildings. So it is the most bustling area among foreigners in the past years.

On average, the clothing for suitable for ages above 30 years old. Wholesale price range approximate from 80-500 RMB.

On the first floor, there is some for younger age. But normally it is not for retail. Even though some are for retail, the price is not good enough. So if you are not doing wholesale business, here is not the best choice for you. If you are fashion designer or you are doing a market research for treading, maybe you could come take a look the first floor.

1F, 3F, 4F, 5F, 8F – mainly for womenswear

2F, 6F, 7F – mainly for menswear

BTW, it seems like that it is not as popular as before in recent years.

KAPOK International Fashion City

It is only around 2 minutes walk from BAIMA to KAPOCK. Styles are fashionable. It is worth a visit.

Prices varies from dozen to thousands of RMB for some original designs. Some shops can sell for retail. Most of them are for wholesale, like at least 5 pieces of mix styles.

1st – 2nd Floor – mainly for women’s clothing

3rd Floor – Accessories, leatherwear, shoes, beauty make-up, clothing

4th Floor – Designer womenswear

5th – 7th – Original menswear

8th – 9th – Designer menswear

HUIMEI International

I have a foreign customer who prefer to come here every time she visits Guangzhou.

Most of them are for wholesale at least 3 pieces of mix styles. But now more and more shops for retail. FYI, it is said that some of the goods are from Thirteen Hongs and Shahe wholesale market where price is lower, but they can sell at a higher price at HUIMEI.

1st – 2nd Floor – mainly for women’s clothing

3rd – 5th Floor – mainly for men’s clothing

You can also find a few shops selling handbags and some accessories.

U:US Guangzhou

U:US is very close to HUIMEI. You could arrange to visit these two places in the same day. You may find some styles are same at these two places. It is a good idea to shop around first and take notes of their booth number or take their business card and mark down prices.

Stylish and Fashionable are the words coming up on my mind when talking about U:US. It is also called Korean Dongdamen in Guangzhou. If you are doing market research for trending, it is worth a visit. You can find the products are in good quality. And the prices are a bit higher than other markets. Wholesale price are roughly 100 RMB upward per piece, such as sweater at around 100-200 RMB, and coat is beyond 200 RMB.

There is some goods imported from Korea, but most of them are made in China.

5th – 8th Floor – mainly for men’s clothing

If you take a metro/subway, take line 2 or line 5 and get out at Guangzhou Railway Station exit F, around 10 minutes’ walk.

Below markets are mainly for foreign trade. The shops on the lower floors are for wholesale and a few for retail. The higher floors are mainly companies’ offices, which are focus on big customize orders. If you are interested in, especially for menswear, come and take around.

  • Kingbo Fashion Wholesale City (金宝外贸服装城) It is located in 57th Zhanxi Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou (广州市越秀区站西路57号)
  • Across from Kingbo, there is Zhanxilu clothing wholesale market (站西服装城)
  • And then next to them, there is Kindo Fashion Market (金都国际服装城)

Thirteen Hongs of Canton

If you think the prices at Guangzhou Railway Station Business Wholesale market is too high for your customers, you can come to this market to have a look. Quality is at medium and lower level. It is mainly for women’s clothing of Japan design, Korean design, European and American design, magazine design and fast fashion styles. Due to the low price, Russia and Southeast Asia buyers are attracted to the market.

At this area, it has many buildings around. I would like to recommend you start to shop around below two buildings which are first choices at Thirteen Hongs wholesale market.

New China Plaza (新中国大厦 )

Relatively speaking, products quality is better at 4th -6th floor.

If you take a metro/subway, take line 6 or 8 and get out at Culture Park exit D.

Hongbiantian (红遍天)

Opening Hours: 7:00 am – 16:00 pm

Address: Around 2 minutes walk from New China Plaza

Shahe Clothes wholesale Market

It is the second largest wholesale market in Guangzhou, providing low-end clothings. It is known for cheap price and it is the lowest in Guangzhou. Average prices is around 10-30RMB per piece or even lower. Surely quality is matching the prices. It has attracted many local and middle-east and Africa foreign buyers.

It gives a feeling of messy as everywhere are full of people carrying goods with carts or motorcycles. It takes time to find your products or suppliers, but it is worth. Because you may find same clothes among these three business circles. But the prices varies quite a lot like 10-30RMB per piece selling in Shahe, while 30-100RMB per piece in Zhanxi, more than 100RMB in Baima.

Try starting from below two buildings.

Wanjia Clothes Wholesale Plaza (万佳服装批发广场)

There’s 3 floors. I suggest you mainly focus on first floor.

If you take a metro/subway, take line 6 and get out at Shaheding exit B

Nancheng (南城)

There’s 5 floors. 4F-5F are more popular as the new styles are updated and keep pace with fashion trends.

Opening Hours: 7:00 am – 17:00 pm

Address: It is next to Wanjia. 149th Xianlie East Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou (广州市天河区先烈东路149号)

Tips

  • There are many buildings in above three wholesale markets areas. And there are many shops inside each building. So remember to wear the most comfortable clothes and shoes when you start your trip. 🙂
  • Always remember to take the shoppers’ name card or mark down their shops’ number, so that you can find them or contact them later on if needed.
  • Most of them are not allowed to take photos, to avoid their styles are copied.
  • There are banks in the markets, but it is better to prepare cash before you go the markets, just to save time and avoid standing in a long line to wait in the banks there.
  • It is save in Guangzhou, but you still need to pay attention to your handbags or wallets and phones.
  • During the time of seasons change, price is obviously cheaper. It switches to winter clothing in around August and September; and to summer clothing in around February and March.
  • On around 10-15 days before Chinese New Year, they are on sale. Many shops are for retail at this moment.
  • When it comes to bargaining, you may hear about the walk-away strategy. When you ask for a cheaper prices and be rejected, if you walk away and the supplier may call you back and offer a cheaper prices to you right away. But if no one stop you, you should have an idea what the bottom price is.
  • Before you place the orders, it is always worth taking around and comparing the prices. There are same styles selling in different shops or even in different markets, but price varies.
  • The more you order, the better price you can get.
  • You will find there are some packages in front of the shops. That are ordered by their customers and are packed and waiting for delivery. If you don’t want to wait or it is too heavy, you can leave them your hotels address and they will send to you. Of course, you need to pay for the express fee, which is not expensive especially in same city.
  • Before you take the orders back, remember to check the list of the clothing if they are matching what you get or if any missing. It is hard to get refund or return after you leave the shops.
  • If any quality issue, you can change the items in around 3-7 days. It should be stated in the receipts. Also you can check and confirm with sellers before you paid. And keep the receipts, just in case any issues.
